In 1900 they were residents of Chicago, Cook Co IL where (3)daughters Zora 23, Ethel 19 & Eva 16 were students of music. They were back in Louisville KY 1905, when dau Eva married Arthur A. FOX. In 1912 dau Zora md/1 George F. PHILLIPPY in Multnomah Co OR, 1920 Zora PHILLIPPY md/2 Edward WILLIAMS Marion Co IN, 1925 Zora md/3 Jessie E. GRIMES Marion Co IN. 1930 Zora, a brother Oscar DIXON & their mother Emma B. DIXON age 80 a widow were living in Indianapolis, Marion Co IN. Zora died Apr 1967 St Petersburg, Pinellas Co FL.

BIOGRAPHY from Oz Phillippy 11/2005: He recalls his grandfather worked for John W. Bacon & Son, Louiville, Kentucky.  The large home that they owned burned down in Parkland, Louisville, KY.  First experience Zora Phillippy relate to her son, Oz Phillippy was of cyclone moving carpets at this home.

Emma Orrbell DAVIDSON [Parents] [scrapbook] "Bell" was born 18 Apr 1849 in Brown County, Ohio. She died Dec 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was buried 22 Dec 1933 in Cave Hill Cemetary, Louisville, Kentucky. Bell married John W. DIXON on 26 Jan 1874 in Morgan Co., Indiana.

1900 Census, Hyde Park, Chicago, IL, lists Emma, age 51, head of household, residing with Zora I (born Aug 1876, Kentucky), Ethel C(born Aug 1880 in Indiana), and Eva (born May 1884 in Kentucky).  Occupation of Emma shows "N.G. 0-0-3".  All three children listed as music students.

1920 Census, Indianapolis, Indiana, shows Emma as 69 years of age, residing with her daughter Zora, and grandson Ozwald at 2015 Ruckle Street.  Occupation is shown as Agent, "Dr. Medicine" (?)  JWKP

1930 Census records Zora Grimes (age 62, divorced, housekeeper for private family), Oscar Dixon (48, married, fountain pen salesman), Oswald Phillippy (15, newsboy, delivering daily paper),& Emma Dixon (age 80, widowed) residing at 2029 Ashland Avenue, Dist 31, Marion County, Indianapolis, Indiana. (Note Emma was supposedly first married at age 25, but Zora's birth would have occurred at age 18!)

1920 Census for Portland Oregon reflects a George L. Phillippy as a boarder at Grand Avenue, Precinct 158.  Age 48.  Occupation was Repairman, Garage. Father was born in New York, Mother in Canada.  Not sure this is the same, although age and location are appropriate. Where are the boys?  jwkp

1930 Census for Clackamus County, Milaukee Twp., Oregon, reflects a George Phillippy, age 58, as a hortoculturalist in the orchard industry. Married to Ida, age 63.  Indicates Father born in New York and mother in Canada. Mother in law, Mary E. Buroughs, age 88, resided with them

BIOGRAPHY: Rumor has it that she had polio as a child, but went on to become a dancer.  She came from a poor family, but was courted by a wealthy sausage maker, Habig.

Nancy UNKNOWN [scrapbook] was born about 1805 in Pennsylvania. She died about 30 Mar 1847 in Etna, PA and was buried in Etna Cemetery, Etna, PA. Nancy married Joseph Kennedy LEE.

She died at age 42 yrs., so it's very likely that she was the mother of all of Jos. bio children.
