William Lee SEAVEY [Parents] [scrapbook] was born 1863. He died 29 May 1921 in Pueblo, Colorado and was buried in Mountain View Cemetary, Pueblo, Colorado. William married Minnie Estelle HICKS on 13 Jan 1885 in Pueblo, Colorado.

Minnie Estelle HICKS [scrapbook] was born 1866. She died 1959 in Pueblo, CO and was buried in Mountain View Cemetary, Pueblo, Colorado. Minnie married William Lee SEAVEY on 13 Jan 1885 in Pueblo, Colorado.

William L. SEAVEY [Parents] was born 1837 in Shaler Twp., PA and was employed Building Contractor in Sharpsburg, PA. He died 25 May 1897 in Sharpsburg, PA and was buried 28 May 1897 in Allegheny Cemetery, Section 24, Lot 45. William married Eliza Jane HUGHES.

In 1880 lived on Sycamore St., Etna.

Per Allegheny Cemetery records:  died at age 59, cause of death was heart disease.

Eliza Jane HUGHES [Parents] was born 1836 in Etna, PA. She died 21 Apr 1897 in Sharpsburg, PA and was buried 23 Apr 1897 in Allegheny Cemetery, Sec 24, Lot 45. Eliza married William L. SEAVEY.

Aa copy of the will of Eliza Jane Hughes Seavey was obtained by Lynne Johnston 11/17/02. The will revealed:
1. Eliza was a widow living at corner of Penn and 13th in Sharpsburg
2. Luella Izetta Seavey had married George W. Garrard
3. Other children mentioned are George Alonzo Seavey; Maria Emma Seavey Keil, wife of Geo. L. Keil; and Orrion Wesley Seavey.  Grandson, Lawrence Hawley Keil.
4. Eliza's brothers, Alonzo M. Hughes and JW Hughes were witnesses
5.  In 1916, both brothers were dead.  One each of their sons witnessed to this:  for Alonzo, Charles A. Hughes; for John W., Alfred C. Hughes.
6.  Eliza Jane Hughes Seavey d. 4-20-1899 at 11:00 AM.


Pitts. Commercial Gazette, 3-22-1899:  "Seavey -- On Friday, April 21, 1899, at 8 o'clock A.M., Eliza J., relict (sic) of W. L. Seavey, in her 61st year.  Funeral services at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. George L. Keil, 24 Eleventh St., Sharpsburg, PA on Sunday, April 23, at 2 o'clock p.m."

Per Allegheny Cemetery records:  61 years of age, cause of death was chronic bronchitis.

John Wesley HUGHES [Parents] [scrapbook] was born 4 Mar 1848 in Shaler Township, Allegheny County, PA and was employed 1900 in Locomotive Engineer. He died 18 Oct 1915 in St. Margaret's Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA and was buried 21 Oct 1915 in Greenwood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA. John married Elizabeth WEST.

Listed in 1870 Etna Borough Census, Image 20 as residing with parents.

Page 27 of the Etna Borough Centennial yearbook lists as borough clerk, J.W. Hughes 1893-1896.

1910 Census, Etna Borough, Other Townships, District 73, Image 15, records John W., age 62, living next door to Charles A. Hughes, with wife Elizabeth, age 61, Alfred C., age 36, George, age 29, and Lillian, age 26. John W. is a Justice of the Peace.  Alfred is a paper hanger, and George is a loborer at the rolling mill.

Death certificate indicates casue of death:  Mitral _______, Atrophic cirrhosis of liver.  Last residence 22 Griesmer St., Etna, PA. Occupation - Justice of the Peace.  Died St. Margarets Hospital. Undertaker - Holzheimur & Bock.

The Greenwood plot was bought in 1894 and  owned by John W. and Rev. Alfred Cauldwood, b. 1825, Eng. d. Feb. 8, 1895.  Lived in Sharpsburg w/ wife Eliza West Parke (m. Mar. 9, 1845, London.  I think Eliza was sister of Elizabeth West Hughes.

Elizabeth WEST was born Sep 1847 in England and immigrated 1858. She died 23 Nov 1927 and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA. Elizabeth married John Wesley HUGHES.

1920 Etna Census, Image  , shows Elizabeth, a widow, age 70, living at 11 Grissimer Street with her three children. She is shown immigrating to the U.S. in 1870, and being naturalized in 1875.

George HUGHES was born Mar 1880. He died 6 Jun 1944 and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA.

Lost his foot on Sept. 6, 1916, at age 35.  Never married. No occ. Lived in Sharps. w/ Chas. Swearingen as "uncle". No marker on grave in Greenwood.
