**WILL JACOB LUDWICK** -
This is the last will and testament of me, Jacob Ludwick of the county of Hampshire in the state of Virginia, as follows; I give and devise to my son Daniel Ludwick, or his heirs or assigns forever all my fences lying in the county aforesaid together with all the tenements and buildings of every kind, and the appertents belonging to said fences, to him the said Daniel, his heirs or assigns forever. I devise to the said Daniel my eight-day clock to have and to use during his life-time, and then to belong to his son Isaac Ludwick. I make the above bequests to the said Daniel Ludwick on the following condition, to wit: That he the said Daniel Ludwick shall pay to my son John Ludwick and to my son William Ludwick, and to my son George Ludwick, or their heirs, one hundred and thirty dollars each, within three years after my death, without interest. I will that the proceeds of my personal property shall be administered as
follows; after paying the expense of a christian burial and all my just debts, I give to my daughter Catharine Clark ten dollars. I give to my grand son Jacob Ludwick, Son of George, twenty-five dollars to be paid to him the said Jacob, as soon as may be. I give to my three grand daughters, Margarite A.
Ludwick, Mary E Ludwick and Nancy Ludwick, daugdhters of Daniel Ludwick ten dollars, each, to be paid to their father Daniel Ludwick as soon as may be. I give to my daughter Elizabeth Liller, fifty dollars. I give to my daughter Polly Parker twenty five dollars. I give to my grandson Isaac Ludwick son of Daniel twenty five dollars to be paid to him the said Isaac, as soon as may be. I give to my son Daniel Ludwick all my bee hives, or stock of bees. I give to the children and legal heirs of my son John Ludwick one hnundred and twenty five dollars in gross, to be paid to the said John Ludwick as their trustee, he the said John to be accountable to the said children for their equal shares of said hundred and twenty five dollars, when they arrive at the age of twenty one years. The bequest of one hundred and thirty dollars made to John Ludwick on the first page of this will, and to be paid to him by Daniel Ludwick, is to be
offset by the amount of a note of hand for $100, which the said Daniel holds on the said John, dated the 1st day of June, 1841. I will that the balance of the foresaid proceeds shall be equally divided among my five children, William, George, Daniel Ludwick, Polly Parker and Elizabeth Liller, and one equal share
with them, to the children of my son John Ludwick, to be paid to the said John, as trustee for said children, for their use, the said John to be accountable to said children, when they severally arrive at the age of twenty one years. I request my good friend Peter Arnold be appointed and legally qualified to execute this my last will and lastly I do revoke all former wills, by me at any former time made, and do declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness where of I have, to this my last will, contained on this one sheet of paper, set my hand and seal, this 21st day of October 1841.

**CODICILE**
I Jacob Ludwick make this codicile or amendment to my last will and testiment dated the 21st day October 1841. The bequest of ten dollars to Catherine Clark and bequest of twenty five dollars to Polly Parker and the bequest of fifty dollars to Elizabeth Liller in said last will I hereby revoke and make void. And I give to my gandson Robert H Ludwick son of Daniel, ten dollars, to be paid to his father Daniel Ludwick out of the proceeds of my personal estate. I desire that ------- from John Ludwick, as trustee, to my estate for any moneys paid him as trustee by virtue of my will aforesaid, shall be good and valid against his children for whom I have made him trustee.
Where unto I have --- my hand and seal the lst day of October 1844.

Lydia ARNOLD [Parents] was born 6 Nov 1808. She died 18 May 1899 in Purgittsville, Hampshire, West Virginia and was buried in Bergen High Cemetery, east of Purgittsville. Lydia married George HIGH before 1834 in Hampshire County, Virginia.

From the Arnold Family Tree at Ancestry.com:  Note: John wasDunker who had migrated from near Amwell, NJ, where an early community of Bretheren had been established by Elder Johannes Naas following his migration in 1735. His first wife was Margaret Albaugh a daughter of Zachariah Albaugh, St of Fredrick Co. MD, All of Johns children were by his first wife Margaret Albaugh. She died before 1785. He married his second wife, Cathrine Ludwick, who was the widow of Elder Phillip Ludwick, She brought several children to the marriage.
