Image 12 of 171.1910 Census, Edgewood Boro, Enum Dist 0065, image 10, Samuel is age 60, living at 151 Edgewood Avenue with wife Elizabeth, age 57, and 3 children. Elizabeth had 8 children, 6 surviving. John (no employment), age 20, Elizabeth J., age 28, and Samuel (a machinist), age 36, are at home. Also living with them is brother, John, age 71. Samuel immigrated to US in 1864, never naturalized. Employed as a clerk in an office.
89th Birthday celebration, newspaper clipping: 89 years old (1938); resided at 1720 Miriam Street, Swissvale; report indicates he was born in Pittsburgh June 7, 1849 & attended school in Pgh. He went to work for George Westinghouse on Liberty Avenue as the company's first bookkeeper. He later moved with the Westinghouse Airbrake Company to Allegheny and then Wilmerding.
