Shook's photograph archive. According to the headstone, Henry Miller died

Note:
The following information concerning the Miller family in Montana was
extracted from Alvin H. Wilcox's manuscript titled "Up the Missouri River
to Montana in the Spring of 1862," written circa 1904. The manuscript is
archived at the Montana Historical Society in Helena, Montana. Wilcox
traveled up the Missouri River to from Sioux City on the steamboat Spread
Eagle to Fort Benton, Montana. From Fort Benton, Wilcox traveled overland
by way of Mullan Pass to Gold Creek.

"Among the passengers was Frank Worden, a merchant residing in Hellgate
in Washington Territory, who had been to St. Louis to purchased goods and
who was now on his return trip." [Note that Father DeSmet was also a
passenger on this steamer.]

[Note that on July 24, 1862, Wilcox and his partner left the gold mines
to go to Walla Walla. They stopped at the Indian Agency at Jocko and
worked there for a time.]
"About the twenty-fifth of August [1862] a man and his wife and two
little girls with a yoke of oxen and a wagon, was driving by where I was
at work and stopped a minute to rest. He said he had driven all the way
from southern Colorado with his ox team and family, and was on his way to
Oregon, that they had left the main route of travel on Snake river for
fear of the Indians, and had come through by way of Deer Lodge and down
the Hellgate river. When I told them it was three hundred and sixty miles
to the nearest settlement beyond, the woman declared she could never ride
that much farther and expressed herself delighted with the beautiful
valley where they then were and wished she could stay and go no farther.
Tipton had authorized me to hire a man to help me harvest the 18 acres of
grain so I told him he could move into the house and go to work tomorrow
and the whole family was delighted to be safely housed once more and take
a rest from their long journey. The mans name was Henry Miller. The name
of the older of the little girls who was the 10 [12] years of age was
Lucretia Miller, who was a few years afterwards to become the wife of
Frank L. Worden....The Miller family remained at Frenchtown [Hell Gate],
and he was a member of the first board of County Commissioners of
Missoula county after the organization of Montana territory. About the
tenth [22] of September [1862] another little girl [Caroline Miller, who
later married a Reinhard] was added to the Miller family...."

Note:
